Migration, Logistics and Unequal Citizens in Contemporary Global Context

Our Mission

A three-year interdisciplinary and transactional project hosted by the International Center Cultural Studies and supported by the Consortium of Humanities Centers and Institutes and Andrew. W. Mellon Foundation, gathered senior scholars cooperated with advanced graduate students from the interdisciplinary humanities and social science studies to form the Institute, including pre-institute meetings, online forums, webinars, online workshops and the online summer school. ICCS along with five core partner institutes, this GHI provided a platform and laboratory of collaboration for all participants to explore and to share perspectives, approaches, and practices on the questions related to migration, logistics, and unequal citizens.

Inviting scholars and NGO activists to share their insights on the related themes on migration, logistics, and unequal citizens, 

Building Communities

Building up research groups and online webinars for constant dialogues and exchange of scholarly ideas 

Collaborative Efforts

Accumulating collaborative efforts as online living curricular to be accessed by all people who find them useful and significant.

Transit Area Research Network

Developing and Establishing Transit Asia Research Network (TARN), an intellectual network focusing on the four topics in order to transfer, exchange, and share knowledge and skills in an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary environment between

  1. Migrant worker representatives,
  2. Advocacy organizations,
  3. Academic communities, journalist/media/filmmakers, and
  4. Relevant government officials especially at the municipality level.
