The first Pre-Institute Meeting between CHCI-Mellon Global Humanities Institute’s members was organized in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 18 April until 21 April. On this occasion, the conveners and affiliated members gathered together to discuss the detailed agenda and expected outcomes of the Global Humanities Institute, which is going to be held next year at National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan.

Thirty-one participants were invited to this planning meeting. Every participant from our partner institutes and affiliations shared their research projects/interests and discussed the design of the 2020 GHI program. We invited four local scholars working on migration issues as well as six NGO groups who work on refugees, migrant workers, human rights, activist journalism, theatrical intervention, refugee education, domestic helper’s federation, and so on.

https://youtu.be/GkkUql-R7-g CHCI-GHI 2020-2021 first online forum took place on June 15th, 2020. The forum provided a platform for Principal Investigators (PIs) and Co-PIs of CHCI-GHI 2020-21 to introduce themselves and to share our revised lines of research in the context of COVID-19.
